About 12 years ago my late wife, Jan, and I travelled this same train. After a few nights in the windy city we caught the 'Wolverine' (I seem to recall) to visit cousins in Ann Arbor. They couldn't work out why we wanted to travel by train. Jan being in a wheelchair was winched up and down at the stations on a special hand cranked platform. It was a bit more scary in Montreal a couple of years earlier when she was taken, in her wheelchair, up the escalator by a big porter.
We had an accessible cabin at the end of the car complete with en-suite shower etc. The shower was on a timer and the drain in the floor was blocked so we had to make a dam with towels to stop a flood.
I don't remember food being too good either. The limitless coffee facility had broken, and that is a whole story in itself. I remember at a stop during the night an announcement asking if there was a doctor aboard - never did find out why.
