I ‘m 74 and attempting to save up (from state pension!) and make this one of my major life goals. I’ve done Turkey to Iran by train and travelled overland, from Wales to India (2005) in combination of Ferry, train and bus. I got locked up in Iran for not having correct visa, but it all worked out in the end.
